.Due to the fact that I forgot to save my plans for last week – they do not exist on snapshot. – Sorry:(

 

Math: 

Monday:  NO SCHOOL  – Labor Day

Tuesday: NO SCHOOL  -Staff Development

                                       

Wednesday:     Daily review:  We will discuss using labels for answers and will discuss page set-up further.  Grading some of the papers is almost impossible.  Please encourage children to work on neatness.

                      Daily review “Monday 3”       #3,4,and 5

                      Multiplication review:  drill of 3 facts – 5 minute timed.

                      Prime and Composite :  Handout – discuss, make note that each number listed has its FACTORS listed also.  Remember what factors are.                            Text page 10-11 – begin discussing Powers, (exponent and base)                               

Thursday: Daily review “Wednesday 3”  #3, 4, and 5

               Text pages 11 – 15, have the students work with a partner and complete the chart on top of page 11, working with exponents.

                                            discuss example problems giving each student a chance to participate.

                                           Assign 22 questions on the online assignment through bigideas.com – lesson 1.2 – exponents.

                                    *****Bonus opportunity ***********  St. Ives poem example on page 10 of text book

Friday:  Daily math review “Thursday 3”  #3,4 and 5

            Allow work time on the computer for assignment 1.2 found on bigideas.com login.  

            IXL – complete the recommended skills plans.

Wednesday: Read aloud to class –      Code of Honor    

                   While reading, have the class illustrate the setting at this time in the story.

                   Time allowed for free reading.

Thursday: Read aloud to class – Code of Honor 

                           Begin reading:  Where the Red Fern Grows
                   Prereading Questions:  “Judge a book by its cover”
